When I open the ILLiad Client, I am getting the message "An error occurred loading the main form.”

Resolution
This error means that there is a problem connecting to the SQL server. Hosted sites can follow the same troubleshooting steps used for the pre-logon handshake error.
Here are the common causes of this error:
- The ATLAS SQL Alias Manager could be set up incorrectly, so double-check this article.
- Have your institution's network administrators ensure that ports 1433 or 1344 are open for traffic to and from the database. To use port 1344, see this article.
