I receive "Error 27506" or "Error -1603" while attempting to run the ILLiad server installer

Symptom

• You are getting Error 27506 or -1603 while attempting to run the ILLiad server installer

Resolution

1. "Enable 32-bit applications" is set in the ILLiad application pool but not in the application pool defaults. 

2. Install IIS6 Compatibility, which should correct the 1603 error.  The 27506 error might be because the member has two accounts. Keep the ‘sa’ account after deleting the other account to complete the installation. 

3.  On the SQL server,  manually create the c:\illiad directory.
