My password to log into the ILLiad Client is correct, but when I try to enter it, I get a message saying the password is incorrect. Why does this occur?

Resolution

If the password worked yesterday and not today, it could be that it has expired. ILLiad staff passwords are set to expire in 180 days by default If this is the case, contact OCLC Support since no one will be able to sign in. OCLC support will provide a tempoary password by secure email or over the phone. The only password requirement is that the new password is not the same as an old one for each user. To set the expiration date out further:

 1. Open Customization Manager and type staffpassword in the search box at the top. 

 2. Select the staffpasswordexpirationdays customization key. 

 3. This key is only based on number of days. To set it out for a year, type 365 in the field and save thechanges at the top by selecting the Save icon.

To set it so staff passwords do not expire:

1. Open Customization Manager and type staffpassword in the search box at the top.

2. Select the customization key called staffpasswordexpirationenabled

3. Select No.

4. Save the changes at the top by selecting the Save icon.
