- Users with usernames like illiaduser', screamin’jayhawkins, or lupitanyong'o are not deleting even though they have no transactions.
The Database Manager uses SQL to delete users, but apostrophes are used in SQL language. Having a username with an apostrophe causes the scripts it uses to fail. Here's what you can do:
- If OCLC hosts your institution, contact OCLC Support.
- If your institution is self-hosted, contact your database administrator or IT department. They will need to run a SQL Query to delete the user by some other characteristic than the username, such as email address.
