Items are no longer in the Approval Queue but are not in the collection after approving

Symptom
  • Items subjected to approval are not in the Approval Queue but are not visible in the Collection or on the end-user website
Applies to
  • CONTENTdm
Resolution

Items that are approved will not automatically be visible within a Collection. New items and changes to files/metadata will not be visible in a Collection unless an index has also been performed following the approval process. For more on how these processes work together see the comprehensive documentation on how to Approve items and Build a collection index.

Occasionally, users will upload an item for approval from the Project Client using an existing Project. Before adding the item to the Project, confirm the Project is associated with the correct Collection. Projects can only be associated with a single Collection, and items cannot be moved between Collections after they have been uploaded for approval. See additional documentation on how to Create a project.

If approved items cannot be located in a Collection, contact OCLC Support and provide the Collection name, ingest and approval replication steps, and any tab-delimited or object files that might be relevant.
