Why did our lifetime user count go down?

Applies to

  • CapiraMobile

Answer

Lifetime user counts in the Capira Staff Dashboard can go down over time. That’s expected and is due to how we keep the data clean and relevant.

What we do

We automatically remove inactive user accounts so the stats reflect current, active usage.

  • Who is removed: Users who are inactive for 9 months or more (inactive = not opening the app).
  • How often: This cleanup runs daily.

So if your lifetime user count dropped, it’s because accounts that had been inactive for 9+ months were removed in this daily process.

Why we do it

Removing long-inactive users helps:
  • Keep reports and stats meaningful for planning and decision-making
  • Avoid counting people who no longer use your library’s Capira experience
  • Keep data storage and performance manageable

What you'll see

  • Lifetime user count may decrease when inactive users are purged.
  • Active user metrics (e.g. recent sessions, monthly active users) are not reduced by this purge; they already reflect only recent activity.
