I cannot complete an OCLC request that is showing as Overdue

Symptom

  • You are the lending library and have received an interlibrary loan item back from a borrowing library, but the system doesn't offer you an option to complete the request. The request's status may be listed as Overdue.

Resolution

This is happening because the borrowing library has not marked the request as Returned. To complete a request, the request status must be Returned. There are a couple of options:

  • Contact the borrowing library and ask them to mark the request as Returned so you can complete the request.
  • If you cannot get a response from a borrowing library, click the Recall button, reload the request, and you'll have the opportunity to close it.
