What does the error New Record is trying to replace an In Use Local System Id Invalid Request mean?

Symptom
  • You see the error "New Record is trying to replace an In Use Local System Id Invalid Request" in your Local Bibliographic Data Sync exception report.
Applies to
  • Data Sync
Resolution

That error occurs if two different records (that match to different OCNs) are sent with the same Local System Number and holdings are requested for both records. In this case, Local Bib Data will only be created on one record. The second record will not have LBD created due to the duplicate LSN because the LSN is already in use on another OCN.
