When I try to open my local file or to set it as default, I get the error message: "Local file could not be opened."
Symptom
- You are unable to open or otherwise work with your local save file.
- An error message appears: "Local file could not be opened. Please see the log file for the specific cause at [file destination]."
Applies to
- Connexion client all versions
Resolution
Please try the following steps:
- Close Connexion client completely for yourself and all other users.
- On your keyboard, press the Windows key and the R key to bring up the Run menu.
- Enter %appdata% into the field and click OK. This will place you in the Roaming folder.
- Navigate to the OCLC folder, then Connex, then Db.
- Make sure that file extensions are fully displayed using the View > File Name Extensions menu option.
- Check for a file with the extension .ldb. Files with this extension are what tell the Access database running Connexion client that someone is logged in.
- Delete this file and attempt your workflow again.
