I am trying to upload a file to the Project Client and am getting 'Error in the application'

Symptom
  • On ingesting the file, you receive the upload Summary error message 'Error in the application.'
Applies to
  • CONTENTdm Project Client
Resolution

This can be the result of attempting to ingest a PDF file that is encrypted/password protected. To validate this is the issue:

  1. Open the file in any PDF editing software
  2. Remove password protections from the file and save
  3. Try ingesting the file again

If you are still seeing the error message contact OCLC Support and include the file as an attachment.
