How to reset WorldCat account password for accessing the OCLC Service Configuration

Symptom
  • You normally log in to the Service Configuration with your WorldCat account (not OCLC Services Account/WorldShare) and you need to reset your password.
  • You may or may not be receiving the message: "The user name or password is invalid. Authentication failed."
  • Note: this article is only applies to the WorldCat login used for the OCLC Service Configuration.

Resolution

To reset the password on your WorldCat account, go to https://ldap-accounts.oclc.org/forgot (Note: this only applies to WorldCat accounts created prior to the WorldCat.org relaunch in August 2022).

If you have a WorldShare account, it may be easier for you to log in to the Service Configuration using your OCLC Services Account (WorldShare credentials).
