What information and when does Capira need to know if my library is changing our ILS?
Applies to
- Capira
Answer
When to notify Capira
Capira requests as much advance notice as possible for any ILS change. Provide at least 90 days’ notice to support configuration, testing, and a coordinated cutover.
Information Capira needs
1) Cutover timing
- The exact date and time the ILS switch will occur (include time zone) and any planned downtime window.
2) Test account for validation
Provide at least one test patron account (barcode + PIN) that meets all of the following:
- Good standing (not blocked)
- 10 checkouts that are eligible for renewal
- 10 holds (any type)
- 2–3 fine charges totaling $1.00 or less
3) Search filters and codes
A list of search filters and their corresponding codes used by the ILS, for example:
- “Books” → BKS
4) Connection and authentication details
Provide the required hostname/port and authentication details based on your ILS integration method.

- Server connection information: Hostname/IP and Port
- SIP port (if using SIP), or required API credentials (if using APIs)
