Why does my lending request only show the recall button?

Symptom

You are trying to mark a lending request Checked In/Complete, but you only see the option to Recall.

The borrowing library needs to take action on their end in order for you to close the ILL request. Follow these steps:

Find the borrowing library's contact information in the request or in the Policies Directory. Call or email the borrowing library and make sure they have processed the request all the way. They will need to mark the request as Received and/or Returned in order for you as the lender to be able to close the request as Checked In/Complete.

If they are an ILLiad borrowing library they may have closed the request without ever going through the steps to process the request correctly. They may have to re-open the request and then go through the steps to close it correctly.

As a last resort, the lending library can click the Recall button and then the Checked In/Complete button, but only if the item has arrived.
