Include Request ID with problem reports
When reporting an issue with My Account or WorldCat Discovery, it's very helpful to include the Request ID. It can be found at the bottom of the screen on which the issue occurred. Including this information allows us to directly trace what happened on the request we are troubleshooting.
New features and enhancements
Search suggestions are now offered in My Account search box
For libraries with WorldCat Discovery
When a user enters three or more characters in the My Account search box, a title search suggestion is now offered, as well as up to eight search term suggestions and an all-results option. This enhancement makes search suggestion functionality in My Account consistent with that in WorldCat Discovery.
New notifications now display when a service is temporarily unavailable
A series of notifications have been added to inform users when one or more OCLC services are down. These will display when only partial information is currently being displayed or when information in the user profile cannot be updated because the necessary service temporarily cannot be reached.
Examples
Bug fixes and known issues
Form validation error message is now dismissed when request is successfully submitted
For libraries with Tipasa
When a library user attempts to submit a request but encounters one or more errors on the form, an error message displays.
Previously, this error message continued to display after the form was corrected, the request successfully submitted, and the Request ID displayed on the Requests tab. To be sure the request was submitted, the library user may have submitted another request for the same item.
The error message is now dismissed when the request is submitted successfully.
Submit button now creates just one ILL request
For libraries with Tipasa
The order of events has been changed to ensure that just one ILL request is created.
Previously, when a library user clicked the Submit button on the patron request form, two calls were immediately made to OCLC services. It was possible for the user to incidentally create multiple requests while those calls were being made and before the button became disabled. This likely occurred more often with slower connection speeds or when the user was not physically located near the data center.
With this release, the button now becomes disabled immediately after it is clicked and before any calls are made to OCLC services. This will remove the possibility of multiple requests being created based on a single ILL request submission.
Due date is no longer displayed for permanent loans
For libraries with WorldShare Circulation
Previously, a due date was displaying to the library user for permanent loans. Now, the user sees a status of "On permanent loan".
