Enhanced Renewal Request Notifications
For libraries using Resource Sharing for Groups
We have introduced three new notification types to improve communication and transparency throughout the renewal request process:
Renewal Request Submitted Notification
- Automatically send patron notifications when a renewal request has been submitted
- Includes item details, original due date, and requested renewal period
Renewal Request Approved Notification
- Automatically send a confirmation email to the patron when a renewal request has been approved by the lending library
- Includes item details and the new due date
Renewal Request Denied Notification
- Notifies patrons when a renewal request has been declined by the lending library
- Includes item details and a reminder of the item’s due date
These notifications ensure that patrons stay informed throughout the renewal process, reducing the need for manual status checking and improving overall workflow efficiency. The automated notifications help prevent communication gaps.
If your library is currently using Resource Sharing for Groups, staff can configure these notifications following this release. You can configure notification preferences through your standard notification settings in Service Configuration.
