Error: Did not find End-of-Record when exporting to TCP/IP
Symptom
- When I export to TCP/IP, I see an error in WorldShare Record Manager that reads ERROR: Did not find End-of-Record.
Applies to
- WorldShare Record Manager
- Connexion client
Resolution
If you're seeing this error in WorldShare Record Manager:
- Change the export format inside User Preferences to a UTF-8 format. This change has been known to clear the issue.
- Verify that the file is formatted correctly to the specifications of the receiving catalog software. Contact the catalog vendor if the upload file formatting specifications are unknown. This error can occur because there is a hex character missing from the end of the record. The hex character is used as a stop sign for some third-party catalogs use to key upload commands.
If you're seeing this error in Connexion client:
- It is possible a record could be corrupted in your Local Save File. Try running the Compact/Repair tool to clear it. Afterwards, search for a new record, apply the local default constant data, and try exporting it.
- Try what is suggested in the Record Manager section above.
If these steps do not help resolve this error, please contact OCLC Support in your region with the troubleshooting steps you have tried and a full-page screenshot of the error.
