System error message when attempting to save contents note

  • You get the error message "A system error has occurred. Try again" when saving or replacing a record in WorldCat

This error often means that you have entered a malformed 505 tag. Check to make sure that all subfields have the proper delimiter and subfield code entered properly. If problems persist after saving the record, contact OCLC Customer Support with your library symbol, the authorization or username you are logged in with, and the OCN of the record.
