Server Communication failed error referencing listAlert occurs when saving LHR in Record Manager

Symptom

  • A Server Communication failed error appears and Developer tools references listAlerts errors when saving an LHR in Record Manager.

Resolution

Drop any Alert roles as well as Cataloging Evaluation, Cataloging Agent, Cataloging Limited, Student Restricted, Acquisitions Read Only roles that can cause role conflicts in the user's WorldShare Admin account. After saving the account, log out of WorldShare and close out the browser. Bring it back up and the errors should no longer occur.  If problems persist, contact OCLC Support with your name, library symbol, the error you are getting, what you were doing before the error occurred, and the OCN/LHR Record Number you were working on.
