After changing an 092 to an 099, the field data disappears when I click elsewhere on the screen

Symptom

  • When editing a record in Record Manager, you change an 092 field to an 099, then enter new call number data. When you click outside of that field, the data in the field disappears.

Resolution

Try changing the "Default Classification Scheme" in your Record Manager User Preferences to "Universal Decimal" instead of "Library of Congress." Changing the setting to Universal Decimal would have Record Manager add a blank 098 field instead of an 092.

If you convert the 098 the same way you converted the 092, the data in the field should remain in place, even if you click elsewhere.
