Simplified cataloging process
Discover a quick reference guide for common actions available in the simplified cataloging interface in WorldShare Record Manager, including how to search, edit records, create labels, and download export files.
Zoeken
- From the Scope drop-down list, select a search scope
- From the Index drop-down list, select an index.
- In the Term(s) text field, enter your search terms.
- Click Search.

Add local data
- From a bibliographic record, click on the Add Local Data button.
- The Add Local Data pop-up screen appears.
- Click in the data entry boxes to add local data.
- When you are finished adding data, click Set Holdings and Export if you have not already set a holding on the record.
Or
Select Send to if you have already set a holding on the record, and choose one of the following:- Export list
- Label print list
- Local System (via TCP/IP)
Set holdings
- From a bibliographic record, select the WorldCat Holding drop-down menu.
- From the WorldCat Holding drop-down menu, select Set. The system sets a WorldCat holding on the record.
Or
Click the Set Holding and Export button to set a holding and export the record without adding local data.

Export records
Note: Holdings must be set on a record before it can be sent to an export list or individually exported.
Add an individual record to a new export list
- From a bibliographic record, click Send to > Export List....
- Click New List.
- Enter the name of your new export list in the Name field.
- (Optional). Select how you would like your export list to appear.
- Select Make Default if you want the new list to be the default export list that appears at the top of the Export Lists list.
- Select My List to keep the list restricted to yourself. When not selected, the list is shared institution-wide.
- Click Create and Add to List. A confirmation message appears which states that the system added your record to the export list.
Export an individual record using TCP/IP
- From a bibliographic record, select the Send to drop-down menu.
- From the Send to drop-down menu, select Local System (via TCP/IP).

Label print lists
Create a label print list
- In the left navigation, click My Labels > Label Print Lists.
- Click New Label Print List.
- Enter a Label Print List Name.
- (Optional) Enter a Description for the label print list.
- Click Save.
Add records to a label print list
- From a bibliographic record, click Send to.
- Select Label Print List... from the Send to flyout menu. The Send Record(s) to Label Print List dialog window opens if you have more than one label print list.
- From the Send Record(s) to Label Print List dialog window:
- Select the Label Print List Name to which you want to send the record from the drop-down list.
Or - Click the Label Print List Name drop-down list and start to enter the label print list to which you want to send the record. Auto-suggestions for label print list names start with the first keystroke in the text field. Once you find the label print list you are looking for, click the label print list name to select it.
- Select the Label Print List Name to which you want to send the record from the drop-down list.
- Click Send. You will receive a message indicating whether or not the record was sent to the label print list.
- If the system was able to send the record, the following message appears: Sent the record to the label print list [label print list name]. Click the label print list name to go to the label print list.
- If the system was unable to send the record, a reason will be given.
