Search LBD fields

Discover how to search for a local bibliographic data record and view all local bibliographic data records associated with a bibliographic record in WorldShare Record Manager.

Search for a local bibliographic data record

  1. From the Data Type drop-down list, select Local Bibliographic Data Records.
  2. From the Index drop-down list, select an index.
  3. In the Term(s) text field, enter your search terms. The text field will expand to fit your search terms if needed.
  4. Click Search. From the results list, you can:
    • Click the Control Number in the Local Bibliographic Data Information column to open a read-only view of the LBD record.
    • Click the title of an item in the Bibliographic Record Information column to view the bibliographic record in the MARC editor and edit your associated LBDs.

Local bibliographic data fields discoverable in bibliographic record index searches

When you search for a bibliographic record in WorldShare Record Manager, your search results may include results from both bibliographic record data fields and local bibliographic data fields depending on your chosen bibliographic record search index.

The following table lists the available local bibliographic data fields and the bibliographic record search indexes in which they appear. Click a field number to go to the description in OCLC Bibliographic Formats and Standards.

240 Uniform Title

Identifies an item if it has appeared under varying titles. It brings together records for items entered under both personal and corporate names and bearing variant titles.

Use for the following types of notes:

  • Bibliographic history

501 "With" Note

A note indicating that more than one bibliographic work is contained in the physical item at the time of execution, issue, publishing or release. These works usually have distinctive titles and lack collective ones. This field usually begins with Issued with:, With:, etc.

 

Use this field also to describe separate works that were bound together locally.
