WorldShare Collection Manager release notes, May 2020

Release Date: May 28, 2020

Introduction

This release of WorldShare Collection Manager features enhancements to WorldCat data sync collections that expand the options for processing shared print commitments, including:

  • Ability to create shared print commitments for serials and multipart monographs
  • Group processing for shared print commitments
  • Ability to provide record-by-record overrides of collection level data

New features and enhancements

Ability to create shared print commitments for serials and multipart monographs

Previously, institutions could only register shared print commitments for single part monographs. With this release, you can now create shared print commitments for all records regardless of material type, which expands your ability to register retention commitments for serials as well as multipart monographs.

Group processing for shared print commitments

Group processing is now supported. This means that group administrators can supply metadata for shared print commitments on behalf of their members in a single data file.

Ability to provide record-by-record overrides of collection level data

This release will allow you to provide additional elements in your metadata submissions to override the collection settings. Previously, metadata elements were limited to OCLC Number, Local System number, and barcode. Other elements used to create the shared print local holdings record were contained within the settings of the collection and could not be overridden.  For additional details regarding specific data elements that are available to override, please see our revised documentation.
