Language of entity

Learn more about selecting a language when you're creating or editing an entity in OCLC Meridian.

The Language selected for creating or modifying an entity corresponds directly to the language being used within the Key Information of the entity itself (e.g. the Entity Label, Description, and Aliases fields).

The language set in an entity's Key Information is not associated with the qualities or characteristics of the entity type. For example, the language is not associated with any of the following:

The language spoken by a Person, Family, or Organization.
The language used at a Place.
The language of a Work (e.g. the language that a novel is written in).
