Work with user profiles

Find out how to create and delete user profiles as well as select a startup macro for a user profile in Connexion client.

Create a new user profile

  1. Navigate to Tools > Profiles. The Profile Manager window opens.
  2. At the bottom of the Profile Manager window, under Create a New Profile, select one of the following options as a basis for creating a user profile:
    • Use system default settings
    • Copy settings from profile highlighted above - If you select this option, select the profile you want to use in the Profile Name list.
  3. Enter a unique name for the profile in the Name box.
  4. Click Create. The profile name is added to the Profile Name list.
  5. To customize the options and settings for the new profile, either now or later:
    1. Select the new profile name.
    2. Click Set as Default.
      Results:
      The client gives you a warning that the following will happen:
      • All open local files close.
      • The client logs you off, if you are logged on.
      • The default local files associated with the new profile, if any, open automatically.
    3. Click Yes to proceed or No to cancel.
  6. When finished, click OK.
    Results:
    • The new description and text string appear in the Current Text Strings list.
    • If you entered multiple fields, the line break is represented by /n for purposes of display in this list.
    • You must assign a keystroke or a user tool to complete creating a text string. These are the only two ways to insert a text string.
    Or
    Click Cancel to cancel creating a text string.
  7. Click Close.

Delete a user profile

  1. Navigate to Tools > Profiles. The Profile Manager window opens.
  2. Select the profile you want to delete in the Profile Name list.
  3. Click Delete.
  4. Click Close when finished.

 Note: You cannot delete the default profile. If the default profile is selected, the Delete button is unavailable. To delete the default profile, you must first:

  1. Select another profile in the Profile Name list.
  2. Click Set as Default.
  3. Click Close.
  4. Re-open the Profile Manager window (Tools > Profiles). You can now select the former default profile following the workflow above.

Select a startup macro for a user profile

To run a macro or start an action automatically each time you open the client using a specific user profile, open the user profile for which you want to select a startup macro or action. Follow the procedure in Run a startup macro or client action.
