Browse by EACC Layer

Find out how to access and use the Browse by EACC Layer window in Connexion client.

Purpose of the Browse by EACC Layer window

  • Retrieve E-Dictionary entries for CJK (Chinese, Japanese, and Korean) characters in one layer of the East Asian Character Code.
  • Retrieve entries in one layer beginning with a specific character.

Access the Browse by EACC Layer window

  1. Navigate to Tools > CJK E-Dictionary or press <Alt><T><J>.
  2. In the E-Dictionary window, click Browse.

Browse by EACC Layer window: Features and buttons

Feature How to use
Index buttons Select a button for the EACC layer you want (Layers 1 through 9, 13, and 14).

 Caution:

  • Layer 1 contains entries for almost 10,000 characters. Displaying results for Layer 1 can take several minutes. Printing all entries in Layer 1 requires over 200 sheets of paper.
  • Layers 2, 3, 8, and 14 are also extensive.

Default: Layer 1
Go to EACC Value Specify an EACC value within the selected layer at which to begin retrieving E-dictionary entries for characters in that layer.

 

Button name Click the button to...
OK Start browsing the specified layer. Results are displayed in the E-Dictionary Search Results window.
Cancel Cancel browsing and close the window.
