What do I do when I get error messages when importing records to Label Program?

When importing a file of labels into the Label program, some users may encounter the error message: "Error reading label" followed by "Import not complete. # labels imported."

If you experience this issue, it indicates that the information in the label data file is not recognized by the Label program. To resolve this, follow these steps:

  1. Locate the data file. It is usually named Labels.txt.
  2. Delete the data file.
  3. Re-generate the label data.
  4. Re-attempt import.

Note:
Ensure that the data file is properly formatted and compatible with the Label program requirements. If issues persist, contact OCLC Support.  We will need exact replication steps, and we may need you to send us the Labels.txt file.
