Record is already locked by you
Symptom
- Search for a label in the Label program. Double-click a label in the results list. Get "Record is already locked by you" message.
Applies to
- Connexion
- OCLC Cataloging Label program
Resolution
There are two possible ways to resolve this problem:
- Reboot the machine.
- Start the Label program as administrator.
Reboot the machine
If the Label program crashes or is affected by another program while a label is open, the index that points to the label in the label file remains in memory. When you re-open the label program and try to display the label, you receive the 'Label in use' error. Some label index processes are running in the background that need cleared. Reboot the machine and try displaying the label again. If it displays, you're done. If you again get the 'Label in use' message, continue to the next section.
Start the Label program as administrator
Sometimes file indexes can become corrupted and cause the 'label in use' message. To try to clear the corrupted index, start the Label program as administrator; press shift+right-click on the Label program icon. Choose Run as administrator. If you're prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation. Display the list of labels. Double-click to open one that generated the error. Does it now open? Close and re-open the Label program normally. The list of labels should open when clicked.
