Find an overview of the interface and the features available in CONTENTdm Replacement.

Overview

CONTENTdm Replacement enables you to easily build, preserve, and showcase your digital collections on your personalized website, making them accessible to people worldwide. CONTENTdm also secures and monitors your digital originals in a cloud-based preservation archive so they remain safe for the future.

Refer to Implementing your Digital Library with CONTENTdm to guide you through key decisions and steps for implementing your digital library.

Your CONTENTdm subscription includes one OCR license. When you are ready to start using OCR, you will need to request an OCR activation code using the OCR Activation Request Form.

  • Please note that this is not available with no-fee CONTENTdm quickstart.

Your CONTENTdm subscription includes preservation archive functionality. When you are ready to start using preservation features, you will need to request activation using the Preservation Archive Activation Request form. For more information about using CONTENTdm's preservation archive, see the Preservation Archive Getting Started Guide.

CONTENTdm Replacement dashboard

  1. The Dashboard screen shows an overview of your items and collections from where you last left off. 
  2. Use the Collections menu to:

    • Website appearance
    • Website pages
    • Analytics
    • Thumbnails
    • Users
  5. The dashboard will highlight any Errors, Failures, or Warnings for your immediate reference.
  6. The Quick Links allow you to quickly navigate to the below screens:
    • Add Collections 
    • Add Items

Roles

The roles assigned to your WorldShare account determine your access level and the actions you can take in Acquisitions. For detailed role descriptions and comparisons, see CONTENTdm Replacement account roles. 

For library admin: To manage roles, see WorldShare Admin > User Management.

For library staff: If you are unsure which roles are assigned to your account, you can ask an admin user at your library. If your institution does not have an admin user, please contact OCLC Support.

Connect with fellow CONTENTdm users in the OCLC Community Center.  If you do not yet have an OCLC Services account for CONTENTdm Community Center access, please request one now.  After you submit the web form, you will receive your new account within 4-5 business days.
