New features and enhancements

French and Spanish translations for selected reports

You can now view French and Spanish language translations across 20 existing reports, helping more staff use reports in their preferred language. Previously, these reports were available only in English.

Note: Other supported WorldShare languages, for example, Italiano or Deutsch, can still be selected and will display partial translation to those languages. General header/left navigation tabs and menu options will be in the selected language, but the reports themselves will not.

Note: The All reports page, which lists your available reports, will show table headers in your selected language, but the details about the reports (e.g., report description) are still in English. Language translation for this content will roll out at a later date.

Report translations include:

  • Field names and definitions
  • Report labels
  • Localized static values in report content (for example, Material Format values)

The following datasets and reports are included in this rollout:

Improved report performance

You should notice faster load times and improved responsiveness across the same 20 existing Power BI reports from their previous Power BI version, helping you complete reporting tasks more efficiently. Testing showed an average of 25% faster render times. Previously, these reports could take longer to load and interact with.

Note: The last data refresh times on these 20 reports will be different than the times shown in the existing classic Data Refreshed reports (e.g.,  Circulation Data Last Refreshed) in SAP BusinessObjects.

Known issues

A few issues were found with this release, and will be posted to the Known Issues page.

  • Exporting data from certain visual types to .xlsx may result in an error (File couldn't be created - Executing the Query for the Export Data operation resulted in an error). As a workaround, export to .csv instead. This issue occurs when you utilize the "Summarized data" export option, but not when you utilize the "Data with current layout" export option.
  • The Patron Membership Status column is missing from the Patron Information Detail report.
  • If you view your report in French or Spanish and export the page via the File > Export menu, the contents of your outputs to PDF, PPT, and PNG will be in English only.
  • Some reports may display incorrect locale formats in filters and content. For example, if your session is set to en-GB (English language - UK), it may display the date format as M/d/yyyy instead of dd/MM/yyyy. Numeric formats (comma usage) may also not display appropriately based on your locale.
  • When viewing the New Titles List and Removed Titles List reports with French or Spanish language selected, the title of the report will display an incorrect title name, e.g., "(spanish_translation>", "<french_translation>", as well as an incorrect KPI label.
