Monthly Circulation Statistics

Overview

The Monthly Circulation Statistics report displays circulation statistics for items checked out, hold item consultations, items soft checked out, and circulation statistics total. You can view these events by year and month, material format, borrower category, permanent shelving location, and temporary shelving location. New to this report is the available reporting by call number classification. The default date range is the last 12 calendar months. It provides details at the month and year level. You can use this report to count items checked out, soft checked out, and items consulted.

 

Dataset Circulation Events
Data refresh rate This report's data is updated nightly. It will be updated by 6 a.m. your institution's data center time. The data will be "as of" the end of the previous day.
Data history start date Data since the institution started using WMS Circulation
Default date range The last 12 calendar months
Report type Interactive

Report slicers

The Monthly Circulation Statistics report visual has the same three slicers that can be applied for each view. Each slicer is set to All by default.

Slicer Values
Item Material Format Select one or more of the available values to update the report visual. The available values will depend on your institution's holdings.
Event Type Select one or more of the available values to update the report visual. The available values depend on the data returned in your institution's report.
Event Transaction Source Select one or more of the available values to update the report visual. The available values depend on the data returned in your institution's report.

 

Report views

The Monthly Circulation Statistics report offers six different views. To switch between views, select a different view type from above the visual.

View Description
Year and Month

Circulation Activity by Year and Month is the default view of the Monthly Circulation Statistics report. Click the Year and Month button to return to this view.

  • Click a circulation activity type to change the graphs in this visual.
    • Reclick the circulation activity type to restore all graphs in this visual.
  • Click a month to display the statistics for that month.
    • Reclick the area to restore all visuals in the report to the default.
Borrower Category Click the Borrower Category button to switch the visual to the Borrower Category view
  • Click an event borrower category to change the graphs and statistics in this visual.
    • Reclick the event borrower category to restore all graphs in this visual.
  • Click a month to display the statistics for that month.
    • Reclick the area to restore all visuals in the report to the default.
Material Format Click the Material Format button to switch the visual to the Material Format view.
  • Click an item material format to change the graphs and statistics in this visual.
    • Reclick the item material format to restore all graphs in this visual.
  • Click a month to display the statistics for that month.
    • Reclick the area to restore all visuals in the report to the default.
Permanent Shelving Location Click the Permanent Shelving Location button to switch the visual to the Permanent Shelving Location view.
  • Click an item permanent shelving location to change the graphs and statistics in this visual.
    • Reclick the item permanent shelving location to restore all graphs in this visual.
  • Click a month to display the statistics for that month.
    • Reclick the area to restore all visuals in the report to the default.
Temporary Shelving Location Click the Temporary Shelving Location button to switch the visual to the Temporary Shelving Location view.
  • Click an item temporary shelving location to change the graphs and statistics in this visual.
    • Reclick the item temporary shelving location to restore all graphs in this visual.
  • Click a month to display the statistics for that month.
    • Reclick the area to restore all visuals in the report to the default.
Classification Click the Classification button to switch the visual to the Classification view.
  • Click an item call number main class value to change the graphs and statistics in this visual.
    • Reclick the item call number main class value to restore all graphs in this visual.
    • Click a month to display the statistics for that month.
      • Reclick the area to restore all visuals in the report to the default.
