Answer

It is possible to create a report that will only retrieve patrons records, that have data in the Custom Data Fields.

  1. Log into WMS > Select Analytics tab > Reports > Report Launch Pad > select Applications at top of the page > select Web Intelligence.
  2. Select > New from the menu bar > Select Universe > OK.
  3. Select > Circulation Patron Information > OK.

Now you will need to set up the report with the data you wish to see …..

  1. From the folders on the left select > Account Information folder > select Patron Barcode and drag it over to the Result Objects box.
  2. Next choose the Patron Information folder > select Patron Full Name and drag it over to the Result Objects box.
  3. Select the Account Information folder > select Patron Custom Category 1 and drag it over to the Result Objects box.
  4. Select the Account Information folder > select Patron Custom Category 2 and drag it over to the Result Objects box.
  5. Now you need do set the filters, so only those patrons with data in those fields are returned in this report.
  6. Select Account Information folder > select Patron Custom Category 1 and drag it over to the Query Filters box.
  7. Using drop down menu on the data you just moved into the Query Filter Box and select > Different from pattern & Type in N/A in the next box.
  8. Select Account Information folder > select Patron Custom Category 2 and drag it over to the Query Filters box.
  9. Using drop down menu on the data you just moved into the Query Filter Box and select > Different from pattern & Type in N/A in the next box.
  10. Select Run Query, from top of screen to see the result you get, you can add other object to the result object box if required.
  11. You can stretch the column widths , so data fits better, by hovering over the edge of the column at the top of each you’ll see <|> so you can drag the columns to be wider if needed.
  12. You can then choose to export in PDF or CSV, EXCEL or Text by selecting the Export Button on the top menu. If wanting to open in an excel spreadsheet > Select Data > select all > File Type > will show CSV > OK.
  13. CSV File will then be downloaded for you to open in Excel.
