Can I convert multi-part items to single-part items?

Symptom

• I need to change an item from a multi-part set to single-part.

Applies to

• WorldShare Circulation
• WorldShare Record Manager

Resolution

This is possible in OCLC WorldShare Record Manager:

1. Find the bibliographic record page for the item
2. In the LHR section near the bottom of the page, click on the Call Number or Barcode to open the LHR edit screen
3. Click on the gray triangle arrow in the 000 LDR to expand the field
4. Click on the drop-down list for Type of Record
5. Select x = Single part item
6. Click on the Done button
7. Save the record (button at top)

Additional information

In most cases, you 'll be required to change the Completeness in 008/16 to 4:

1. Click on the arrow in the 008 field
2. Click on the drop-down list for Completeness
3. Select 4 = Not applicable
4. Click on the Done button
5. Save the record (button at top)
