WorldShare Circulation release notes, August 2019

This release of WorldShare Circulation provides several enhancements:

  • Interface improvements to the Check In screen and Patron Type Policy.
  • Performance improvements and bug fixes

New features and enhancements

Improved banner messages for Check In

Banner messages at the top of the Check In screen are now easier to read and predict. All relevant messages will now display in the banner for your review.

First, when there are multiple alerts, each banner message will start on a separate line. Prior to this release, alerts were combined into a single line of text that could be difficult to read:


Second, the reshelving message will always display as a banner. Prior to this release, this message would only display as a banner when there were no other alerts:


 Note:  The Action column will continue to help you determine what to do next with the checked-in item. No changes have been made to the checked-in items table.

Patron Type Policy

The organization and labeling of the settings in Patron Type Policy have been updated to provide more clarity and consistency.

Bug fixes

Browsers autofill data incorrectly in Circulation

This release introduces changes that will make it more difficult for your browser to confuse Circulation entry fields with a form that it can populate with your site credentials, etc. If you continue to experience problems with autofill, please contact OCLC Support.

Select All column on Checkout screen does not appear for new staff

This release includes an additional fix for this issue. 

Please contact OCLC Support if you continue to notice problems with the columns on the Checkout screen, staff cannot select items to renew, etc.

Overdue and billing alert icons continue to display in patron summary

You no longer need to close and reopen a patron's account to force the overdue and billing alert icons to disappear. As soon as you resolve the problem(s) on the account, the Account Overview on the Checkout screen will be updated.
