Stanza types
Learn about the three different types of stanzas available in the EZproxy Configuration UI.
There are three types of EZproxy stanzas.

| OCLC approved stanza | A stanza OCLC staff members have investigated, tested, and approved as the official stanza for obtaining content from a specific vendor. | OCLC staff |
| Institutional public stanza | A stanza created by an individual institution for use in their EZproxy server configuration. The creating institution can make this stanza available to other institutions by electing to make the stanza public. Once an institutional stanza is made public, it is available for other institutions to use at their own risk. Caution: These stanzas are not directly supported by OCLC staff. After a stanza is made public, it is impossible to make it private again. Institutions are responsible for removing all personal information from the stanza before making it public. |
Creating institution |
| Institutional private stanza | A stanza created by an individual institution for use in their EZproxy server configuration. These stanzas can only be utilized in the institution that created them.
Caution: These stanzas are not supported by OCLC staff. Stanza configuration and maintenance are the responsibility of the creating institution. Other institutions cannot utilize private stanzas. |
