Introduction
This release of Choreo Insights provides a number of new features and enhancements. These features will help you manage more complex workflows, including:
- Ability to analyze and query material borrowed via Interlibrary loan with Choreo Insights filters.
- Export updates for ILL lending and borrowing, including new borrowing fields, updated lending column names, and smarter include/exclude behavior in the Export Wizard.
- Updated Interlibrary loan filter presentation updates so ILL lending labels and related controls stay consistent with the new borrowing options.
Many of these enhancements are the direct result of your feedback.
Recommended actions
For this release, we recommend that you review the following checklists and complete the relevant tasks so that you can adjust your policies and workflows and train your staff. These checklists identify updates that we have determined as significant for most institutions. We encourage you to review all of the items in the release notes to determine whether there are other items that might require additional action or follow up by your institution.

New features and enhancements
Querying ILL borrowing data
Choreo Insights now gives you and your library a dedicated way to analyze and query titles your institution has borrowed through interlibrary loan (ILL). This list of titles exists as an ILL borrowing list, which exists separately from your holdings symbol. This workflow is designed to make it easy for you and your library to treat borrowed material as its own dataset when you run overlap and other analyses that combine ILL borrowing activity with Choreo comparator groups or title lists.
Adding ILL borrowing lists to your queries
When building a query that you wish to incorporate ILL borrowing into, you can add the ILL borrowing list to either the List A or List B area using the same workflow that you would use when adding other title lists. The borrowing title list will show up as the name of your Choreo Insights My Library group + borrowing list. This functionality enables new workflows in Choreo Insights, such as the ability to view your collection with the items you borrowed via ILL or compare the items you borrowed with ILL to the collections of your peers or consortial partners.
Activating and using ILL borrowing filters
The ILL borrowing filter block is enabled only when you have selected at least one ILL borrowing list in either the List A or List B areas. If you have not added an ILL borrowing list, that section is disabled. When you have an ILL borrowing list selected, and you set ILL borrowing filters (any choice other than no restrictions), those borrowing filters only apply to records coming from your ILL borrowing list. The ILL borrowing list filter does not apply to other title lists, My Library, or Comparator Groups. Other Choreo Insights filters (for example: holdings counts, year of publication, LC classes, and filters that are not specific to ILL borrowing) still apply to ILL borrowing lists. When filtering by ILL borrowing, you are able to filter on the following:
- Status: Filled or Unfilled
- Date Range: The date the item was noted as borrowed in the system
- Count: The total number of times the item was borrowed
Interlibrary loan data export
Column names and new borrowing fields
In addition to being able to filter by ILL borrowing data, new columns have been added to the export to give you and your library further data on the items you queried using the new filters. The new columns for ILL borrowing data are the following:
- Last borrow date
- Borrowing loan count
- Borrowing copy count
- Borrowing total count
- Libraries borrowed from
These fields will automatically be excluded from the export if the ILL borrowing list is not present in List A or List B. Data will only populate in the ILL borrowing columns when the ILL borrowing list is in List A.
Interlibrary loan lending filter and export column changes
To help ensure you and your library are looking at the correct filters and columns in the export, minor changes have been made to the naming of the ILL lending filters and export columns. The following columns have been renamed:
- Loan Count has been changed to Lending loan count
- Copy Count has been changed to Lending copy count
- Total Lend Count has been changed to Lending total count
