Why is WorldCat Discovery not searching a newly selected database?

Symptom
  • Recently added databases are not being included in WorldCat Discovery searches
  • A database is "selected" or "checked" in another group, but it isn't being searched by default in WorldCat Discovery
Applies to
  • WorldCat Discovery
Resolution

If you haven't added a database to your library's default search group, it won't show up in search results unless you use the Advanced Search function. In order to have it show up in your default search, add it to your default search group using the instructions below:

  1. Sign in to the OCLC Service Configuration
  2. Click Metasearch Content > Default Databases and Licensed Content
  3. Open Group Configured Databases
  4. At the top of this tab, under Default Database / Group, you can see which group is currently your selected default
  5. Scroll down and find this group
  6. Scroll through and check the box next to the database you want to be added
  7. Click the save button on the bottom of the page
