Is there a session time-out for WorldCat Discovery?

Applies to
  • WorldCat Discovery
Answer

The session timeout length for WorldCat Discovery is 30 minutes. This means that if a user is inactive for 30 minutes, their session will automatically end.

To ensure a seamless user experience, a prompt will appear after 25 minutes of inactivity. This prompt will offer the user three options:

  • Continue the session: This option will extend the session timeout for another 30 minutes.
  • End the session: This option will immediately terminate the current session.
  • Close the prompt: This option will simply close the prompt without affecting the session timeout.

If the user chooses to continue the session or close the prompt, the session time out countdown will restart. However, if the user chooses to end the session or does nothing, the session will automatically end at the 30-minute mark.
