Work with search results

4. Search results

The Search Results screen provides an item overview for each record in the results list. The item overview contains the following information:

  • Title - Click the title to view the Item Details screen for the item.
  • Author/Authors - Click an author's name to view additional works by the author.
    • If a WorldCat record contains a WorldCat Entity URI in the 100 $1, 110 $1, 700 $1, or 710 $1, a Person card avatar (wc.org-person-card-avatar.png) appears before the author's name. Hover over the avatar to open the Person card, which contains the following information.
      • Author - The given name of the author. This data is pulled from the WorldCat Entities givenName property.
      • Description - A description of the author. The description will appear if the Person entity includes a description. This data is pulled from the WorldCat Entities description property.

Note: The Author and Description information displays in the same language as your browser settings. You can change the language in the site footer.

      • Date of birth and date of death - The birthdate and, if applicable, death date of the author. This data is pulled from the WorldCat Entities dateOfBirth and dateOfDeath properties.
      • Copy URI - Click to automatically copy the entity's unique Universal Resource Identifier to your clipboard.
